The journey begins

1 Sept 2009 is the beginning story of the 3rd batch Overseas Immersion Program (OIP).
Firstly, we met up at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1. Many of our family members and friends were there to bid farewell. It was definitely a tearing moment as we will be away for 6 weeks. Flashes were everywhere as we took photos with our love ones.
Time flies, and it was finally the time to checked-in our luggage and head into the departure gate. Tears were rolling down from cheeks, but at the same time, we were excited for the trip.
The trip to Wuhan was not a direct flight, and we had to transit at Guangzhou. We flew off from Singapore Changi Airport to Guangzhou on China Southern Airline, CZ 352 at 8am.
We landed at Guangzhou International Airport at 12pm and had our lunch as our Domestic flight will only depart at 530pm.
We board up CZ 3344 and arrived in Wuhan at 7pm.
After retrieving our luggage, we headed out of the airport, and first thing that everyone is curious about was the weather. The weather was pretty cooling as compared to Singapore, was wondering will this temperature stay throughout the next few days….
We took the chartered bus and headed to Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST). Once we reached the campus, the first thing we did was to have our dinner at its campus restaurant. The dinner was a 13 course meal and it only cost 20 RMB per pax (SGD$5).
We then headed to our hostel which didn’t turn out as bad as I thought initially. I felt pretty homely once I stepped into the hostel as compared to hotel. & I’m proud to have AnYu & JunRu as my roommates. We unpacked our luggage and had a small discussion to write down the things we needed to get for our room. We ended our day at around 2am.
